This is the original kitchen-and when I say original I MEAN IT! The home was built in 1979 (younger than me) and hadn't had a lot done to it since then. What was done was so half slop it really needed to have never been done (are you with me?). Our original plans for renovation did not include the kitchen until we found mold, plumbing problems, etc. Just a side note, the previous owners had tried unsuccessfully to mount an over-the-range microwave. When it didn't work they just put a screw through the side of the cabinet into the microwave (nice!) The whole contraption had made the cabinets fall about 2 inches from the ceiling. To top it off they were painted white, falling apart and full of dead mice-EEWWWWWW! Best just to rip it all out and start over! Thanks Ry, Dad, and Bry and of course REX!!!!!
